Long Term Plans for the Club

During the 2001 - 02 season, the club developed a long term plan through to 2007.  This was developed by the club's members through out the season.  At each general meeting, time was taken to move step by step through the planning process from brain storming ideas to strengths and weaknesses to finally producing "Ski Plan 2007".  At each stage of the process members were given the opportunity of providing input and feedback both at club meetings and through information posters at the day lodge.

At the end of the season, a special general meeting was held to discuss the final plan and vote was taken at which the "Ski Plan 2007" was adopted as a vision for the direction of the club.

One of the deficiencies identified in the 2007 plan, was a Master Site Plan which was subsequently developed during 2002.  This is a available on the club's web site or as a book.  At a special general meeting in April 2003, the Master Plan was accepted in principle.

Further to the development of the Master Site Plan, a site has been identified for the construction of a 2400 sq ft Machine Shop and storage area.  This site conforms to the Master Plan in being adjacent to the proposed future stadium/training field.  The building has been designed as a multi use facility for:

• the garaging and maintenance of the Bombardier groomer
• storage of the skidoos and other materials currently in the lodge basement
• use as venue for running events such as the Marathon, Club races, etc from, following the construction of the new stadium area.  The 800m between the current stadium and the day lodge is seen as a major problem when running events at the moment.
