KID'S RACES - 15 KM RELAY 

This exciting event will utilize a 10 km lap circuit of some of the beautiful trails at Stake Lake.

The course will take the skiers through the new stadium on each lap.

It will be challenging and exhilarating.

Volunteers needed from 10:30 to 2:00

We are still looking for a few volunteers to help in the stadium area to record bib numbers, call bibs, collect bibs and pass out Kleenex.  Please contact Luc if you can help.  ljguilherme@shaw.ca 

 DETAILS

Race Information

This is a free technique event.  The kids races (up to 13 years) start at 10:00 am.  Mass start 11:00 am.  Start and Finish will be in the new stadium location about 800 meters from the day lodge on the west side of the lake.  Classes will mass start in waves at 5-minute intervals commencing with the 50 km class. 

Course Description 

1, 3 or 5 x 10 km laps through rolling, forested  terrain.  There will be a relatively modest elevation range from 1300 m to 1360 m.  Racers will negotiate this range twice during each lap.  The course will be groomed for skating with one classic track on the side.  We will have 2 food/aid stations on the course.

Relay - 15 km

Team Relay where each of three team members will complete one 5-kilometer lap. 

Timing

Skiers will be timed in the class they enter. 

Course Closing

There will be a cut-off time of 3:00 pm regardless of a racer's position on the course.

Spoke 'N Motion XC Ski Demo Day

Sunday, January 17th at Stake Lake trails, 11 am - 3 pm.  Free demos... Try new equipment on the trails. 

General Information

Refreshments and food for racers and volunteers will  be available from noon until about 3 pm.  Check our website for further information, latest weather and snow conditions, etc. at  www.overlanderskiclub.com 

Access

The Stake Lake Cross Country Ski Trails are located  approximately  22 km south of Kamloops on Lac Le  Jeune Road.  If traveling north on the Coquihalla Highway from Merritt, take Exit #336 to Meadow Creek Road.  Stake Lake Trails are about 5 km from Exit #336.  If traveling through Kamloops, take Exit #366 and head to Lac Le Jeune Road.

Medical

There will be a physician and St. John's ambulance on site.  Please advise if you have any condition that we need to be aware of.

Refunds

All fees submitted with an accepted Overlander Ski Marathon registration are non-refundable.  In the event of a cancellation due to bad weather conditions, the organizers reserve the right to recover costs incurred.  Refunds for 'medical reasons' available upon receipt of a doctor's certificate.

Awards

The awards for each category and age group will be presented soon after the third place finisher in each category completes the race.  the announcer will give a few minutes notice for each award ceremony, and they will take place in the stadium area.
